Hungarian Customer Receives Advanced U Profile Roll Forming Machine with Post-Punching and Auxiliary Press Equipment

08 May

In early May, we successfully completed the shipment of a high-performance U profile roll forming machine to a valued customer in Hungary, marking another milestone in our export journey to Europe. The production line is tailored to meet the specific needs of the Hungarian manufacturer, incorporating post-forming punching technology to ensure precise hole placement. To enhance processing capabilities and offer further flexibility, we also provided a dedicated punching press machine for secondary operations.

This delivery represents more than just a machine transaction—it is a demonstration of how engineering precision, thoughtful configuration, and end-to-end support can help manufacturers streamline their operations and gain a competitive edge in the European market.

Engineered for Accuracy: Post-Punching for U-Shaped Profiles

The U profile roll forming machine is specifically designed to produce various U-shaped metal profiles used widely in industrial frameworks, mounting channels, and structural reinforcements. A key feature of this machine is its post-punching system, where punching occurs after the metal strip is shaped into a U profile.

This configuration ensures holes are always placed correctly in relation to the profile’s final geometry—avoiding the distortion or misalignment often caused when punching is performed before forming. The holes can be used for bolts, wiring passages, bracket mounting, or ventilation, depending on the final product application.

Post-punching is driven by a hydraulic system that is synchronized with the machine’s length control system. Operators can set punching positions, spacing, and quantity through the PLC touchscreen interface. This integration provides great flexibility and production efficiency, while also saving on material handling time and ensuring consistency from the first piece to the last.

Full Line Functionality: Coil to Finished Profile

The U profile roll forming line is an automatic system beginning with coil feeding and ending with finished products cut to precise lengths. Components of the system include:

  • Manual decoiler for steel coil feeding

  • Leveling section to straighten the incoming material

  • Roll forming stations equipped with high-precision rollers

  • Post-forming punching unit controlled by servo and hydraulic systems

  • Hydraulic shear that cuts each profile to the programmed length

All systems are driven by industrial-grade motors and synchronized by a programmable controller. Real-time feedback and diagnostics are available on the operator’s panel, allowing easy monitoring and troubleshooting. The machine’s sturdy design and modular structure make it suitable for long-term, continuous operation with minimal maintenance requirements.

Punching Press Machine: A Perfect Companion for Secondary Processing

In addition to the inline production system, we delivered a separate punching press machine to the Hungarian customer. This auxiliary machine is intended for post-processing tasks, including additional hole patterns, notches, or edge trimming that the inline roll forming machine may not handle efficiently.

This punching press is highly adaptable. It features a custom die base and adjustable stroke settings, enabling the customer to carry out complex operations on pre-formed profiles. Whether it’s to meet special client orders or adapt production for future needs, the punching press expands the customer's capabilities significantly.

Moreover, having a secondary press means the customer can conduct operations parallel to roll forming—improving productivity and reducing downtime.

A Result of Clear Communication and Engineering Collaboration

This project began several months ago when the Hungarian customer contacted us with a detailed list of requirements. After reviewing drawings and product specifications, our engineering team proposed a customized roll forming solution that combined both forming and punching functions. We also recommended the auxiliary press to handle further downstream processing.

During the machine’s trial run at our factory, we ran full coil tests to demonstrate the punching, forming, and shearing stages. Video reports and live demonstrations were provided to the customer, who approved the machine’s performance ahead of shipment.

Each part of the line was carefully packed with protective film, anti-rust oil, and wood crates. Our logistics team coordinated the shipment route to Hungary, ensuring that the machines would arrive safely and on time.

Supporting Customers Beyond Delivery

We believe that our responsibility doesn’t end when the machine is shipped. That’s why we prepared detailed installation manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, and training videos to help the customer quickly assemble and operate the system. Our technical support team is available for remote commissioning and will continue to provide consultation as production ramps up in Hungary.

Looking Ahead

With the successful delivery of this U profile roll forming line, we have strengthened our cooperation with clients in Hungary and set the foundation for more strategic partnerships in Europe. Our goal is to continue offering customized roll forming solutions that empower manufacturers to grow, innovate, and lead in their respective industries.

We look forward to seeing the equipment in full operation soon and supporting our client in their continued development.
